What to Expect at Your First Lash Appointment in Wallsend

The first lash appointment can feel like a leap. You have seen sets you love on Instagram, you know you want them, but you do not really know what the process actually looks like. Totally normal. Here is exactly what happens when you book your first set of lash extensions in Wallsend with us at K Beauty.

Before you arrive

A few small things to get right.

Come with clean lashes. No mascara, no eye makeup. If you turn up with mascara on, we have to spend appointment time removing it, which eats into your application.

Skip the caffeine. A double espresso right before lying still for two hours is not your friend. Your eyes will flutter the whole appointment.

Wear something comfy. You will be lying down for a while. Loose layers are easier than tight collars or stiff jackets.

Allow for parking. We are right on High Street East at Town Hall Chambers in Wallsend. Street parking is available, and the metro is a five minute walk if you prefer the train.

Arrival and consultation

When you arrive, you will be welcomed into the studio with a drink and we will sit down for a proper consultation before anything else. This is not a tick box exercise, it is the most important part of the whole appointment.

We will look at your natural lashes, your eye shape, your skin tone, your daily routine, and the photos you have brought along. From there we agree on:

  • Style (classic, hybrid, Russian volume, or angel)
  • Length and curl
  • Mapping (cat eye, doll eye, natural, or wispy)

If you are unsure which style to pick, our Hybrid vs Russian Volume guide and Russian Volume vs Classic guide will help you walk in with a clearer idea.

We will never talk you into a heavier set than your lashes can carry. Lash health comes first, every single time.

The application

You will be lying flat on a heated, supported bed with a soft pillow under your knees. We tape down your lower lashes carefully so the upper ones can be isolated and worked on individually. Your eyes are closed throughout.

A full new set takes between 90 minutes and two and a half hours depending on the style. Time you can use to nap, listen to a podcast, or just switch your phone off and have a genuinely peaceful break. Most clients tell us it is the most relaxing two hours of their week.

You will not feel anything sharp or uncomfortable. The fumes from the adhesive are minimal because we use premium products and a fan. If you ever feel a sting (rare, but possible), say something and we will sort it.

The reveal

When the last lash is bonded, we sit you up gently, hand you a mirror, and watch your face. This bit never gets old.

We will brush them through, talk you through aftercare, and take an after photo if you are happy. You can ask any questions at this point. Anything you are unsure about, ask. We would rather answer ten questions in studio than have you guess at home.

Aftercare brief

We will go over this in person, but the basics:

  • Keep lashes dry for 24 hours
  • Cleanse daily with a lash safe foaming wash
  • Brush every morning with a clean spoolie
  • No oil based products near the eye area
  • Sleep on your back where you can
  • Book your infill at two to three weeks

For the full version, our How to Make Your Lash Extensions Last Longer guide covers everything in detail.

How long until your next visit?

Most of our clients in Wallsend, Newcastle, North Shields, and across Tyne and Wear come back for an infill every two to three weeks. An infill takes around an hour and tops up the lashes that have naturally shed.

If you leave it longer than four weeks, you may need a full new set rather than an infill, which costs more. Fresha sends you reminders so you never forget, and we will book your next appointment before you leave if you want.

A few honest things

  • You will love them and immediately wonder why you waited so long
  • The first night sleeping on them feels strange for about five minutes
  • You will probably book your next appointment before the first one is fully grown out
  • Mascara will feel pointless from now on

Ready to book?

If you are looking for lash extensions in Wallsend and you want a calm, unrushed first appointment with a specialist who genuinely cares about lash health, we would love to see you. Book online through Fresha, or message us first if you want to chat through which style would suit you.

Either way, we promise to make your first set a good one.
